Successful Erasmus + Ka2 Project Submission
The Center of Research and Design in Architecture at Epoka University (CoRDA) and Universal sh.p.k signed on January 08, 2014 a Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Cooperation. This Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Rector of Epoka University, Prof. Dr. Remzi ALTIN and the representative of Universal sh.p.k, Mr. Endri ZHULEKU. According to this agreement, the two offices will endeavor to cooperate in education and professional areas of mutual interest. To the extent feasible both offices aim to contribute to academic research in the built environment by developing contemporary strategies by applying processes from “Research by Design” to “Design by Research”.
To the extent feasible, both offices will encourage direct contact and cooperation in areas of mutual interest and collaboration on Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) design projects. CoRDA will play a representative role on architectural solution; Universal will play a supportive role in project implementation. To the extent that it is possible, CoRDA also will offer academic consulting services and professional technical support to Universal on issues and topics of urban and building physics and environmental control. CoRDA will offer open lectures or seminars on specific cases determined by both parts while “Universal” will offer workshops on specific cases like; Eurocodes, Innovative Building Materials, Legislative issues in construction, Structural Analysis and Design Software, Performance Based Design, Retrofitting of existing and historical buildings.
According to the agreement, Universal will be engaged to offer internship and employment opportunities for the undergraduate students of Epoka University during various periods of the year.
The Center of Research and Design in Architecture – CoRDA is the newest center Epoka University which aims to build a bridge between industry and Academy, contributing to academic research in the built environment, implementing design strategies based on interdisciplinary principles, generating integrative design between the user and the designer and developing Architectural, Urban and Landscape projects. One of the main objective of CoRDA is the making possible the employment of graduate students. CoRDA also will contribute to offer summer practice alternatives for undergraduate students.
